Eric Marsaglia, Vice-President, has been with the PRF since its inception. From his involvement in the initial incorporation and by-laws to his most recent involvement as the Vice President, he is committed to the organization as he feels the project is a vital piece to the Plainfield community. He owns Northern Insurance in Downtown Plainfield and Glen Ellyn and has been a business owner in Plainfield for over 10 years. He lives in nearby Wallin Woods with his family-Tasha, Rome, Brock, Caelynn and Graysen.
Deb Olsen – Secretary / Director
I am a lifelong resident of Plainfield. My husband Clayton and I raised our two daughters, Corinne and Cerena, in Plainfield too, living in several old houses that we restored along the way. We currently live in an old house on Bartlett Avenue, with a lot of good neighbors who are also actively involved in business, politics and social events that benefit Plainfield.
I also am currently on the Historic Preservation Commission, serving since its inception. Great strides have been made with the adoption of two different historic districts, one of them, our downtown, on the National Register of Historic Places as a district. Many individual landmarks have been created, and our active commission is seeking the formation of another district around the Village Green.
Another historic endeavor is the Village Preservation Association (VPA) where I serve as the treasurer. We have used our group to help and encourage homeowners to preserve their houses to maintain the integrity of our neighborhoods. We do host several community events, in the fall a Golf Outing and coming up on December 4, 2017 a historic house walk, featuring 6 houses that have opened their doors for tours.
I have been on the Executive Board, as the secretary of the Riverfront Foundation since 2013. It has been very gratifying to see the progress that has been made, and am looking forward to even more improvements. We have a great partner in the Plainfield Park District, who has secured grants and administered the work to help begin the walking/bike paths necessary to get the public into the park. The recent completion of the pedestrian bridge from River Road will open up access even more for easier parking. I am looking forward to hosting events on the grounds with the ability to provide parking made accessible by the bridge.
I plan to continue to serve in some capacity on the Plainfield Riverfront Foundation, believing that this park will become an important link in our community.
